Mitchell downs Women's Volleyball in NECC showdown

NEW LONDON, Mass. --- The Becker College women's volleyball team lost in straight sets at Mitchell College on Tuesday evening at the Yarnall Athletic Center in New London, Connecticut.

FOR THE HAWKS

  • Becker freshman outside hitter Teddie Flynn (Amesbury, Mass. / Essex Tech) led the Hawks with nine kills and a .450 hitting percentage.
  • Becker senior outside hitter Sofia Cullina (Deep River, Conn. / Valley Regional) put up a fine defensive effort with 21 digs over three sets, as well as three kills and an ace.
  • Becker freshman middle blocker Ariana Gordon (Brockton, Mass. / West Roxbury Academy) was a presence at the net with three total blocks and four kills.
  • Senior setter hitter Morgan Gould (North Attleboro, Mass. / Tri-County) setup the offense with 17 set assists and eight digs.

FOR THE MARINERS

  • Olivia DeLoach (Spring Hill, Fla./F.W. Springstead) led all players with 16 kills and added 14 digs to pace Mitchell. Ariana Carter (Central Falls, R.I./Blackstone Academy) added nine kills on senior night while Claire Binfield (Las Vegas, Nev./Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas) contributed six kills and 14 assists. Lexi Hubbard (Spring Hill, Fla./Nature Coast) handed out a match-high 20 assists while Cameron Childs (Gainesville, Fla./P.K. Yonge DRS) supplied a team-high 20 digs.

UP NEXT
The Hawks will conclude their regular season on Friday night as they host Lesley University. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Becker will be honoring their graduating senior class prior to the match as part of Senior Night.
