PAXTON, Mass. (10/12/10) – The Becker College women's volleyball team swept Anna Maria College in three straight sets during the Dig Pink event at The Fuller Activities Center on Tuesday Night. The win improves the Hawks' overall record to 6-14, while the AMCATS drop to same mark at 6-14. The Hawks took the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-19, before pulling out the final set, 25-23. Becker was led by senior Kelsea Laubenstein (Randolph, Mass.), sophomore Julie Trcka (Shelton, Conn.), and sophomore Nicole Morse Alton, N.H.). Laubenstein recorded a game-high 28 assists on the night, while Trcka record nine kills and 20 digs. Morse also enjoyed a fine match, contributing two aces, five blocks, and six kills in the win. Sophomore Sandy Acosta (Lawrence, Mass.) paced the AMCATS with10 kills and three blocks in the loss. Junior Alicia Bonneau (Worcester, Mass.) also played well, recording two aces and dishing out nine assists, while junior Nicole Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) enjoyed an solid all-around game with two aces, five kills, and 15 digs. Both teams return to action on Thursday as Becker host Albertus Magnus at 7:00 pm, and Anna Maria travels to play Lesley at 7:30 pm.
