Women's Soccer wins scoring bonanza at Fisher

 

LEICESTER, Mass. --- Sophomore Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass. / Sutton) scored a career-high four goals as the Becker College women's soccer team won 7-6 at Fisher College on Thursday night in Medford Massachusetts.

 

The Hawks of Becker run their record to 3-1 to start the season while the host Falcons of Fisher are now 1-3 overall.

 

Becker jumped out to a 3-1 lead before Fisher tied it just before halftime. In the second period, the Hawks took a commanding 7-4 advantage before the Falcons rallied with two goals scored in the final two minutes. Becker finally held off the late charge to preserve the win.

 

Junior midfielder Maria Colon (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Hills), freshman midfielder Solene Ndahiro (Kigali City, Rwanda / St. Margaret's School), and sophomore midfielder Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass. / Shepherd Hill Regional) all scored for the Hawks, with McKissick's goal representing the eventual game-winner. Senior midfielder Lauren Zaleski (Avon, Mass. / Norfolk County Agricultural) had two assists.

 

Keith, who entered the day as the reigning Becker Student-Athlete of the Week and was ranked tenth in the country in points, now has seven goals and four assists in just four games.

 

 Becker is back on the field on Saturday when they host Dean College at 11:00 a.m.

Keith's penalty kick in the 78th minute proved the eventual game-winner. Junior midfielder Maria Colon (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Hills) and freshman midfielder Solene Ndahiro (Kigali City, Rwanda / St. Margaret's School) both scored for the Hawks, while senior midfielder Lauren Zaleski (Avon, Mass. / Norfolk County Agricultural) and junior midfielder Meghan Bealka (Freetown, Mass. / Apponequet Regional) each had two assists.
 

 

Keith, who entered the day as the reigning Becker Student-Athlete of the Week and was ranked tenth in the country in points, now has eight goals and five assists in just four games. 

 

It was the highest-scoring game Becker had played in since the start of the 2012 season.

 

 Becker is back on the field on Saturday when they host Dean College at 11:00 a.m.
