POULTNEY, Vt. – The Becker College women's soccer team improved their record to 2-0 with a convincing 9-0 victory over Green Mountain College Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass.) paced the Hawks with six points on the day, netting a pair of goals while dishing out two assists. Maria Colon (Wharton, N.J.) chipped in with two goals and an assist to finish the game with five points.
Three freshmen each netted their first collegiate goal in the game. Julia Campellone (Bellingham, Mass.) found the back of the net at 37:53 mark for her first of two goals on the day. Classmate Cassandra Nelson (Exeter, N.H.) also tickled the twine in the 63rd minute to extend the Hawks lead to 6-0. After goals by Keith and Colon made it 8-0, Kyra Teixeira (Old Lyme, Conn.) capped the scoring barrage with her first goal in the 83rd minute.
Becker will try to improve their record to 3-0 when they host Fitchburg State University on Tuesday, September 6th at 6:00 p.m.
