Women's Soccer Advances To NECC Semifinals

LEICESTER, Mass. – The Becker College women's soccer team defeated Mitchell College 4-1 in New England Collegiate Conference quarterfinal playoff action Tuesday evening at Alumni Field.

Becker (14-5-0) got on the board 9:16 into the game when Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass.) centered a pass to Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, Conn.) for a breakaway goal. Erika Galdamez (Concord, Calif.) fed Maria Colon (Wharton, N.J.) down the near sideline with 9:30 remaining in the first half to put the Hawks in front 2-0.

Mosdale added to the Hawks lead 17 seconds into the second half when she tickled the twine from 25 yards out on a pass from Colon. Mosdale completed the hat-trick with 33:36 remaining in regulation on another assist from Galdamez.

Mitchell (4-9-4) avoided the shutout with 17 seconds remaining when Christina Jando (Naugatuck, Conn.) put back a rebound in front for her sixth maker of the season.

Becker goalie Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) made seven stops while Katie McBride (Birmingham, England) turned away ten shots.

Becker advances to the NECC semifinals on Thursday, November 5th when they travel to top seeded Lesley University at 8:00 p.m.
