LEICESTER, Mass. – Becker College fell to Southern Vermont College 2-0 in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action Tuesday evening at Alumni Field. The win lifts the Mountaineers record to 8-5-1 (4-1-1 NECC), while the Hawks fall to 11-4-0 (4-2 NECC).
Southern Vermont got on the board when Naya Cerda (West Islip, N.Y.) split the Hawks defense with a pass to Molly Madore (Higganum, Conn.), who shot the ball past the dive of Jardyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) for her 13th goal off the season.
Ally NcNamee (Freehold, N.J.) gave the Mountaineers a 2-0 advantage when she took advantage of turnover, taking the ball down the far sideline, tickling the twine with her left foot from 15 yards out.
Jordyn Martel suffered the loss after making three saves, while Southern Vermont keeper Melissa Mascari (Sarasota Springs, N.Y.) made 11 stops to earn her third shutout of the season.
Southern Vermont returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 24th when they host Regis College at 1:00 p.m. Becker will travel to Daniel Webster College on Sunday, October 25th at 11:30 a.m.
