PAXTON, Mass.—Becker College sophomore Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, Conn.) finished with two goals and an assist to lead the Hawks to a 4-0 win against the Anna Maria College in women's soccer action Thursday afternoon.
The win boosts the Hawks to 6-1 on the season, while Anna Maria falls to 2-5-1.
The Hawks strong-armed the ACMATS offensively , finishing with the upper-hand in all score sheet categories. Becker outshot Anna Maria 22-7 on the afternoon, and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Becker got on the board at the 17:03 mark, Mosdale had the ball in the left corner. She passed it to Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass.), who swiftly one-touched into the left corner of the net. It would mark the only goal of the first half, as Becker carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Just over five minutes later, Becker struck again, as Mosdale collected her own rebound and looped it over the head of AMCAT netminder Kate Kneeland (Windham, Maine) who was still on the ground after stuffing Mosdale's initial shot attempt.
Mosdale added a second score in the 66th minute as she dribbled her way into 10-yard range, where she fired a point-blank shot past Kneeland.
Kneeland had a busy day in net for the AMCATS, totaling nine saves. Becker netminder Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) stopped all four shots she faced on the day for her first individual shutout of the season.
Becker returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 26 when they begin NECC action at Mitchell College at 12:00 p.m.
