Caroline Plunkett Named NECC Player Of The Year

LEICESTER, MASS.- Becker College senior Caroline Plunkett (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer Player of the Year. In addition to being named Player of the Year, Plunkett was also selected First Team All-Conference.

Plunkett led the Hawks this year with a career high 25 goals, which is most in a single season by any soccer player in Becker College history. Plunkett also tied Christina Michael for the Becker single season points record with 55. In addition to setting two single season records, Plunkett also set the benchmark for goals in a career (66) and points in a career (141). Plunkett is currently ranked sixth in the nation in goals.

Four of Plunkett's teammates earned Second Team All-Conference. Senior defender Keri Richardson (Douglas, Mass.) earned her fourth consecutive All-Conference selection. Classmate Jodi Theriault (Woodstock, Conn.) received Second Team honors after tallying a career high 27 points. Sophomore Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) made the team despite missing nine games due to injury. Dery finished the season tied for second in goals (10). Wrapping up the All-Conference Team was junior defender Rebecca D'Andrea (Cumberland, R.I.). D'Andrea finished the season with a goal and six assists.
