Women’s Soccer Gallops Past Mustangs

Leicester, Mass.- Becker College defeated Mount Ida College 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action this afternoon at Alumni Field.

The two teams were unable to find the net in the first half. It wasn't until the 77th minute that Becker junior Jodi Theriault (Woodstock, Conn.) scored an unassisted goal from 32 yards out, putting the Hawks in front 1-0. The score remained the same until the final seconds of regulation when Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) ripped a shot into the top right corner of the net, sealing the 2-0 win for the Hawks.

Mount Ida goalkeeper Devan Meeker (Bantam, Conn.) turned away six Becker shots. The loss drops the Mustangs to 2-14 on the season.

Becker goalkeepers Kaitlyn Rose (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Katherine Cormier (San Diego, Calif.) combined to make five saves in the victory. The win lifts the Hawks record to 9-6-2 on the season. Becker will return to action on Thursday, October 27th, when they travel to WPI at 7p.m
