Plunkett's Goals Lead Women's Soccer Past Wheelock

Leicester, Mass.- The Hawks of Becker had an outstanding 6-1 victory against the Wildcats of Wheelock  in NECC women's soccer action on Saturday at Alumni field.

Caroline Plunkett (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) had a hat trick, scoring three goals including the first of the game, just 2:36 into the contest. Mindy Moreau (Canterbury, Conn.) scored the eventual game-winner in the 14th minute of the game.  Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, Vt.) and Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) also each scored a goal.  

Hilary Johansen (Walpole, Mass.) had the sole Wheelock score of the afternoon, an unassisted strike with 7:04 remaining in the first half.

Wheelock goalkeeper Alexandra Chiesa (Medford, Mass.) had nine saves against the fierce Hawk offense. Becker enjoyed a 19-3 advantage in shots.

The Hawks see their record soar to 4-4-2 with a 2-0 record in the NECC standings while the Wildcats dropped  to 0-7 with an 0-2 conference mark.  Becker is back in action this Tuesday, October 4th as they host the Pride of Regis at 6:00pm. Wheelock hosts the Nighthawks of Newbury, also on Tuesday.
