Leicester, Mass.- Becker scored six goals in the first half , on their way to a 8-1 win over Anna Maria in women' s soccer action.
Becker got the scoring started 12:51 into the game when junior Jodi Theriault (Woodstock, Conn.) ripped a shot over the head of Anna Maria goalkeeper Cristina Turley (Waterford, Conn.) from 25 yards out. The Hawks added to their lead when freshman Alycia Dery (Millville, Mass.) fed Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, N.Y.) on a breakaway goal. Becker increased their lead to 3-0 when Alycia Dery scored her first collegiate goal with 20:26 remaining in the half. Jodi Theriault added her second goal of the half, making the score 4-0. Caroline Plunkett added two more goals before the end of the half, as Becker took a 6-0 lead at the break.
Freshman Kayla Soule (Burlington, Mass.) made the score 7-0 with her first goal of her career, 4:51 into thesecond half. Anna Maria got on the board with 33:36 remaining on their first shot of the game, coming off the foot of Alexa Hare (North Brookfield, Mass.).
Cristina Turley made nine saves in the loss, as Anna Maria fell 0-1 on the season. Freshman Katherine Cormier (San Diego, Cailf.) made one save in the Hawks victory. The win improves Becker to 1-0-1 on the season.
