LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College women's lacrosse team won 13-9 against visiting Bay Path University on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.
The Hawks of Becker (3-8, 2-3 NECC) were down 3-1 just five minutes into the game and trailed 6-5 at halftime before scoring four consecutive goals in the second half to take the lead for good over the Wildcats of Bay Path (2-6, 1-5 NECC).
Becker junior midfielder Marissa Turner (Coventry, R.I. / Coventry) had a hat trick with three goals and an assist while freshman defender Samantha Carter (Boothbay Harbor, Maine / Boothbay Region) also had three scores. Freshman attackers Kayla Richard (Whitinsville, Mass. / Blackstone Valley Tech) and Samantha D'Auteuil (Columbia, Conn. / Bolton) and junior midfielder Meghan Bealka (Freetown, Mass. / Apponequet Regional) each scored twice, while sophomore attacker Taryn Flebbe (Neptune, N.J. / Neptune) also scored a goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Nikolle Storey (Cumberland, Maine / Kents Hill) recorded 16 saves in net to earn the win.
For the Wildcats, junior midfielder Elena Helming (Maplewood, N.J. / Columbia High School) scored a game-high five goals.
The Becker Hawks are back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Mitchell College for a 12:00 p.m. game. Bay Path also plays Mitchell in their next game, on Tuesday at home at 3:30 p.m.
