Balanced Attack Lifts Women's Lacrosse Over Wildcats

LEICESTER, Mass. – Becker College defeated Bay Path University 21-6 in New England Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Alumni field. The win ups the Hawks record to 7-8 (4-1 NECC) while the Wildcats sink to 1-5 (1-3 NECC).

Kailee Ruyack (Beacon, N.Y.) led the Hawks scoring attack with a game-high six goals. Rachel Welling (Charlestown, N.H.), Victoria Belcher (Seekonk, Mass.) and Tatum Fahs (Foster, R.I.) had four goals each.  Fahs and Belcher matched Ruyack's six point outburst after dishing out two assists each. Katherine Landanno (Winchendon, Mass.) chipped in with two goals, while Marissa Turner (Conventry, R.I.) tallied a goal and an assist.

Alyssa Bond (Thompson, Conn.) gathered game-highs with ten ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

The wildcats were led by Kaylee Herring (Worcester, Vt.) with a team-best four goals. Nicole Mitchell (Hopkinton, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with two goals.

Becker goalie Karena Prescott (New Bedford, Mass.) made six stops to earn the victory while Nicole Gousey (Enfield, Conn.) recorded 23 saves in a losing effort.

Both teams continue NECC action on Tuesday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m. The Hawks will travel to Mitchell College while Bay Path plays host to Daniel Webster.
