Women's Lacrosse Soars Over Trailblazers

LEICESTER, Mass. –Senior Tatum Fahs (Foster, R.I.) tallied a game-high seven points as Becker College defeated MCLA 19-3 in non-conference women's lacrosse action Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field. The win evens the Hawks record to 2-2 while the Trailblazers fall to 1-1.

After MCLA took an early 1-0 on lead when Natalie Caney (Belchertown, Mass.) scored on a free position shot, Becker responded with eight unanswered goals. Erin Ferris (Springfield, Mass.) ended the Hawks run with her first goal of the season with 8:24 remaining in the first half. After Kailee Ruyack (Beacon, N.Y.) netted back-to-back goals for the Hawks, Natalie Caney scored the final maker of the game for the Trailblazers with 1:05 left in the first stanza.

Kailee Ruyack finished the game with five goals, four coming in the first half of action. Victoria Belcher (Seekonk, Mass.) tickled the twine three times to complete the hat-trick. Erika Galdamez (Concord, Calif.) and Rachel Welling (Charlestown, N.H.) chipped in with two points apiece.

Senior goalie Karena Prescott (New Bedford, Mass.) made ten stops to earn her second win of the season while MCLA netminder Alexandra David (Lowell, Mass.) made nine saves.

MCLA returns to action on Saturday, March 21 when they travel to SUNY Purchase at 1:00 p.m. Becker will host U. Maine Farmington on Sunday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m.
