LEICESTER, Mass.- The University of Maine Farmington defeated Becker College 15-7 in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Alumni Field. The loss drops the Hawks to 1-3 overall, while the Beavers advance to 1-1.
Maine opened the game with an unassisted goal by freshman Jaclyn Langevin (Bow, N.H.). The Beavers took a 2-0 lead at 26:11 when junior Maddi Kadnar (Oakland, Maine) scored on a free position shot. Kadnar lead the Beavers offensively scoring a total of five goals, while Langevin finished with four.
The Beavers went on another two goal run before senior Ashley Mossey (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) netted a goal on an assist from Tatum Fahs (Foster, R.I.) to make the score 4-2. Maine secured the lead towards the end of the first half, scoring eight unanswered goals.
With 16:18 left in the game, senior Christina Boucher (Pawcatuck, Conn.) put the Hawks back on the board with a goal on an assist by Mossey. Senior Jacqueline Chila (Monroe, Conn.) continued the offensive run on with a man-up goal, scoring her first of the season. Boucher added her second of the game with 1:47 left to go in the game to make the score 13-6.
Boucher led the Hawks offensively with three total goals.
The Hawks take the field again on Tuesday, March 25 when they host Fitchburg State at 4:00 p.m., while the Beavers will continue their road trip at Wheelock College tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
