LEICESTER, Mass. – Brad Hosey has been named the new Becker men's soccer head coach, as announced by Vice President of Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, Frank Millerick, Tuesday morning.
"I am thrilled to announce that Brad Hosey has accepted our offer to be the next head men's soccer coach at Becker College," commented Millerick. "Brad's enthusiasm and passion for coaching made him the right person for the job. I am excited to see him strengthen the men's soccer program."
"I'd like to thank Frank Millerick, Andrea Belis and the rest of the athletic department for the opportunity to serve as the next head men's soccer coach," stated Hosey.
Hosey comes to Becker College from Salem State University where he was the assistant men's soccer coach the past two seasons. Hosey is not new to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) as he was previously the assistant coach at Daniel Webster College, following a four-year playing career with the Eagles. Following graduation, Hosey became the assistant coach at Rivier University before returning to his alma mater to coach in 2016.
As the assistant coach at Rivier, Daniel Webster, and Salem State, Hosey was in charge of all recruiting activities, along with leading training and practice sessions. In his two seasons with Salem State, he assisted in training 10 All-Conference recipients, a Goalkeeper of the Year, and two Player of the Year and two All-New England honorees. At Daniel Webster, he coached six All-Conference recipients and a Goalkeeper of the Year.
"At Becker, our ultimate goal is to be in contention for NECC championships year-after-year and to lead the program into the NCAA Tournament," said Hosey. "These objectives will be achieved through a combination of focusing on creating a winning and competitive culture. Our student-athletes will be expected to perform both on and off the field as devoted students and as valuable members of the community."
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Hosey has coached for Hampshire United, a U17/U18/U19 Premier level team and currently coaches for Global Premier Soccer which is a U17 Premier team.
Hosey graduated from Daniel Webster College with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Sport Management. In his four-year career, Hosey was a two-year captain, an All-Conference recipient and All-Academic recipient.
