LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's soccer team opened their 2018 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) schedule with a 2-0 loss at home to visiting Lesley University on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.

Alumni Field, Leicester
Score: Lesley 2, Becker 0
Records: Lesley (1-3-1 / 1-0 NECC) | Becker (0-6 / 0-1 NECC)

The Lynx wasted no time getting on the board, as sophomore center-back Jack Wadleigh (Glastonbury, Conn. / Glastunbury) recovered a deflected cross off the Becker goalkeeper right in front of the net and put it home, putting Lesley up 1-0. It was Wadleigh's first career goal in a Lesley uniform.

In the second half, both teams picked up the pace with scoring opportunities coming up short on both sides. Lesley finally broke free in the 65th minute when they earned a penalty kick. Wadleigh took the shot and put it past the keeper for his second career goal as the Lynx went up 2-0. That score would hold up until the final buzzer.

• Becker held a 22-11 advantage over Lesley in total shots. Those 22 shots were a season-high for the Hawks.
• Becker junior goalkeeper Marco De Lauri (Edgware, U.K. / Stanmore) recorded one save on the day, while his counterpart, Lesley junior net-minder Patrick Corcoran (West Hartford, Conn. / Conard) finished with ten stops.
• Becker sophomore forward Colby Koch (Norfolk, Mass. / King Philip Regional) finished with a game-high four shots.
• Dating back to 2009, the Hawks have dropped ten straight to the Lynx.

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday when they host Fisher College in a 6:00 p.m. game. The Lynx play their next contest at Pine Manor College, also on Wednesday evening.
