FITCHBURG, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 73-67 at Fitchburg State University on Monday evening at the Parkinson Gymnasium in Fitchburg.

FOR THE HAWKS OF BECKER

• Becker junior forward Mateus Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil / Colegio Pedroso e Oliveira) led the Hawks with a career-high 20 point night on 9-of-17 shooting. The junior also tallied nine rebounds, three assists and a steal.
• Sophomore guard Mekhi Chester (East Orange, N.J. / East Orange Campus) finished with 14 points, shooting 4-of-7 from behind the arc, and dishing out four assists.
• Junior forward Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey / The Koc School) scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.                    
• Junior forward Jamir Carr (Philadelphia, Penn. / Universal Audenried) added six points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
• Collectively, Becker shot 40 percent from behind the arc.

FOR THE FALCONS OF FITCHBURG STATE

• Fitchburg State senior guard Nicholas Tracy (Indianapolis, Ind. / Herron) led the Falcons with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.
• Freshman guard Xavier Betancourt (Tampa, Fla. / Tampa) added 12 points off the bench, with four boards and two blocks.          
• Sophomore guard Devon Johnson (Washington, D.C. / Eastern Senior) chipped in ten points and three steals. 

TURNING POINT

• With the game tied 35-35 at halftime, the second saw the Falcons pull ahead only to see the Hawks pull to within three after a triple from Chester with 11:39 remaining, 49-46. A 14-4 run, however, capped off with a layup from senior guard Tyrell St. John (Stamford, Conn. / Trinity Catholic) to put Fitchburg ahead for good.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are back on the court next Tuesday when they play host to Clark University in a 6:00 p.m. game.
