Southern Vermont proves too much for Men's Basketball

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 81-59 to visiting Southern Vermont College on Thursday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium.

The Hawks of Becker (11-11, 6-5 NECC) were led by junior guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) with 11 points, three assists and three steals. Junior guard Jalen Robinson (Queens, N.Y. / Manhasset) shot five of eight from the floor to score 11 points, while sophomore forward Antonio White Jr. (Middletown, Conn. / Middletown) came off the bench to score ten points with five rebounds. Senior forward Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y. / Campus Magnet) posted a team-best 11 rebounds with nine points and two blocks.

The Mountaineers of Southern Vermont (18-4, 10-1 NECC) employed a balanced scoring attack, led by junior forward Andre Hodo (Rockville, Md./Bullis School) with 12 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Senior center Claude Payne (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) and freshman guard KJ Kinsey (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Coral Springs Charter School) also each scored 12 points. Senior guard Mike Pierre (Melrose, N.Y./Hoosick Valley CS) and Kyle Depollar (Rockville, Md./Montrose Christian) each scored 11 points.

Becker is back on the court on Saturday when they host Newbury College in a 1:00 p.m. contest. Southern Vermont hosts Mitchell College in their next game, also on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
