WORCESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's basketball team lost 79-67 at Clark University on Thursday night at the Kneller Athletic Center in Worcester. The Hawks of Becker drop to 2-4 on the season while the Cougars of Clark improve to 4-2.

Becker junior forward Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y. / Campus Magnet) led the Hawks with a double-double, scoring 19 points, pulling down 15 rebounds and swatting away two blocked shots on the defensive end. Senior guard Kyle Credle (Queens, N.Y. / Benjamin N. Cardozo) finished with 18 points while sophomore guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) contributed ten points and four rebounds. Senior guard Khairi Mosley (Elizabeth, N.J. / Piscataway Vo.) added seven points, three assists and two steals.

Clark was paced by senior guard Joe Atkinson (Milford, Mass. / Milford), who exploded for 32 points including going eight-of-eight from behind the arc. Atkinson also had a team-high ten rebounds. Sophomore small forward Luca McCormick (Bradenton, Fla. / IMG Academy) finished with ten points while junior guard John Pisacreta (Andover, Mass. / Andover) dished out a game-high eight assists.

The opening minutes of the game saw the two teams trading baskets. The Hawks used their defense and athleticism to take the early advantage, as Mosley poked the ball away at midcourt, deflecting the steal to Credle for a give and go as Mosley finished with a fast break layup to give Becker a 14-8 lead. The Cougar defense stiffened in response, as the hosts went on an 18-6 run, capped off with a three-pointer from Atkinson as Clark went up 26-20 with 8:24 left in the first half. Clark went into halftime leading 44-35. Atkinson led all scorers at the break with 17 points while Durodola had 14 to lead Becker. The Hawks shot well but gave up the edge in second chance points (11-6), points off turnovers (8-4) and rebounding (17-12).

In the second half, the Cougars slowly built on their lead, taking a 14 point advantage off a three from Atkinson with 12:26 remaining in the game. Becker tried to rally, but could get no closer than seven as the host pulled away down the stretch.

Up next for Becker, the Hawks open their NECC Conference schedule on Saturday when they travel to Newbury College to face the Nighthawks in a 3:00 p.m. game. The game will be played at Hellenic College in Brookline. The Cougars of Clark will return to the court on Tuesday, December 6th when they host Fitchburg State at 7:00 p.m.
