Men's Basketball Falls To NECC Rival Elms, 74-65

LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College fell to Elms College 74-65 in New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Tuesday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win lifts the Blazers record to 5-7 (3-1 NECC) while the Hawks sink to 5-7 (2-1 NECC).

The Blazers were led by Symon Smith (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Jerry Buchanon (Windsor, Conn.), each with a game-high 21 points. Buchanon also dished out a game-best seven assists. Conny Ihearahu (Largo, Md.) chipped in with eight points and a team-high 12 boards while Devonte Marshall tallied nine points.

Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y.) paced Becker with 19 points and 12 boards to earn his fifth double-double of the season. Kyle Credle (Queens, N.Y.) fished with 11 points and four assists. Reginald Finney (Ansonia, Conn.) and Rashuan Liggon (Elizabeth, N.J.) contributed nine points apiece while Nafis Streeter (Philadelphia, Pa.) came of the bench to score eight points and 11 boards.
 

Elms will shoot for their fourth consecutive NECC victory Thursday, January 14th when they host Lesley University at 5:00 p.m. Becker also returns to action on Thursday when they travel defending NECC champion Regis College for a 6:00 p.m. tilt with the Pride.
