LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College defeated Newbury College 85-51 in New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win lifts the Hawks record to 2-5 (1-0 NECC) while the Nighthawks drop to 2-5 (1-1 NECC).
Samuel Durodola (Rosedale, N.Y.) earned a double-double after scoring a game-high 23 points and 12 boards. Durodola was 8 for 12 shooting and eight of eight from the charity stripe. Senior Reginald Finney (Ansonia, Conn.) also had a monster game for the Hawks with 20 points and eight rebounds, including a game-high five steals. Kyle Credle (Queens, N.Y.) finished with 16 points and four assists.
Kenny Ramos (Roxbury, Mass.) led the Newbury starters with 12 points and team-best six rebounds. Ceejae Carter (Dorchester, Mass.) chipped in with nine points while Jeduan Langston (Boston, Mass.) scored a team-high 19 points off the bench.
Newbury returns to action on Tuesday, December 8 when they travel to Nichols College for a non-conference battle with the Bison at 6:00 p.m. Becker will shoot for a three game winning streak on Saturday, December 12 when they host Salem State University at 1:00 p.m.
