Ford-Hayes Scores 1,000th Point As Men's Basketball Downs Eagles

NASHUA, N.H. – Senior Donovin Ford-Hayes (Windsor Locks, Conn.) became the 16th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point milestone as Becker College defeated Daniel Webster  74-57 Thursday night in NECC action at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

Angelo Adon (Silver Spring, Md.) led the Eagles with 12 points while Khial Watson (Ann Arbor, Mich.) picked up 11 points off the bench.

Scott Dulaire (Bloomfield, Conn.) led the Hawks (14-10, 9-6 NECC) with 32 points – a career high – knocking down 12 of 14 from the field including three from outside and was 5 of 6 at the free throw line. He added nine rebounds and two assists.
Donovin Ford-Hayes added 14 points for the Hawks including a three-pointer with 15:07 remaining in the first half delivering his 1,000th career point. David Maturah (Windsor Locks) chipped in with 11 points.
DWC, which is now locked into the sixth and final playoff spot, moved to 10-14 overall (7-8 NECC). The Eagles close the regular season at home on Saturday against Southern Vermont.
Becker moved into a three-way tie with Elms and Mitchell for third place with one game remaining for all three clubs.
Both teams shot exactly 42-percent on the night but Becker outrebounded the Eagles 41-32 overall including 19 on the offensive glass leading to a key 27-6 difference in second-chance points and outscored DWC 40-20 in the paint.
Adon netted a pair of earl treys that gave DWC a nine-point lead seven minutes in but Becker whittled the lead to four on a Rashaun Liggon (Elizabeth, N.J.) jumper and would take the lead as part of a 13-3 run on a Dulaire layup with 5:32 to go.
A Dulaire dunk, Maturah layup and trey from Dulaire closed the half with Becker on another 9-3 run for a seven-point lead at the break.
Becker would open the second half with a 15-2 run sparked by four points from Maturah to open a 17-point lead (47-30) with 15:38 left, and DWC pulled no closer than 12 the rest of the half.
