Regis Hands Men's Basketball First NECC Loss

LEICESTER, Mass.– Despite shooting just thirty-four percent from the field, Regis College defeated Becker College 50-39 in New England Collegiate Conference men's  basketball action Thursday evening. The win lifts the Pride record to 3-8 (2-1 NECC), while the Hawks fall to 5-6 (3-1 NECC).

David Maturah (Windsor Locks, Conn.) was the lone Hawk in double figures with ten points. Freshman Kyle Credle (Queens, N.Y.) came off the bench to score eight points.

Regis was led by Sam Jean-Gilles (Melrose, Mass.)earned a double-double with a game high 14 points and ten rebounds. Ethan Peana (Staten Island, N.Y.) tallied 12 points and nine rebounds, while Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass.) chipped in with ten points.

Both teams return to the court on Saturday, January 11 when Becker travels to Newbury College at 2:00 p.m., while Regis returns home to host Mitchell at 2:00 p.m.
