LEICESTER, Mass. – Kayla Quinn has been named the new Becker field hockey head coach, as announced today by Vice President of Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, Frank Millerick.
Quinn joins the Becker staff with three years of playing experience between Division II Southern Connecticut State University and Assumption College, before finishing her career at Worcester State in 2016, earning Third-Team All-Little East in her senior year.
Along with her playing experience, Quinn has directed youth field hockey clinics in New Haven, Connecticut for "You Go Girl," a developmental program, in association with USA Field Hockey, that introduces the sport in non-traditional or at-risk communities.
"I am honored to be named the head coach for the Becker College Field Hockey program," said Quinn. "I am looking forward to this season and picking up where the team left off last year."
Quinn graduated from Worcester State University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and is working as an ABA therapist in Worcester while balancing work as a certified EMT. She is seeking her master's degree in hopes to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analysis member.
"I am pleased to announce that Kayla Quinn has accepted our offer to be the next head field hockey coach at Becker College," commented Millerick. "Kayla's enthusiasm and passion for coaching made her the right person for the job. I am excited to see Kayla strengthen and grow the Becker field hockey program."
Quinn takes the position following an 8-10 season for Becker in 2018.
"Becker has a long history of field hockey success," said Quinn. "I am excited to be a part of the success and see what this team can accomplish. Go Hawks!"
The Hawks season begins August 30, a 4:00 p.m. game against Lasell College.
