Randy Morgan named CCC Offensive Rookie of the Week for the fifth time

LEICESTER, Mass. --- For the fifth time this season, freshman running back Randy Morgan (Spring Hill, Fla. / Springstead) of the Becker College football team has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Football Offensive Rookie of the Week, this time for the week ending November 3, 2019.

Morgan rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on Saturday during Becker's 14-6 loss to visiting Curry College. Morgan's 28 carries was one short of the Becker school record, that being set by Morgan himself earlier this season.

It is the fifth time this season that Morgan has been named the CCC Offensive Rookie of the Week. He was previously so recognized for the weeks ending September 7th, September 15th, October 6th and October 20th. Morgan, already the holder of the single-season rushing yardage title in school history, is just 12 yards short of 1000.

As of press time, Morgan is tied for 12th in the nation in rushing yards with 988.

Becker will conclude their 2019 home schedule next Saturday when they host Western New England University, the defending CCC Conference Champions. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. The Hawks will honor their graduating senior class before the game as part of Senior Day.
