LEICESTER, Mass.- Junior running back Jacob Holmes was named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Holmes had a career day for the Hawks, setting or tying eight program records in leading Becker to a 37-26 win over MIT.
Holmes averaged 13.6 yards per carry en route to 232 rushing yards and 279 all-purpose yards. His 93-yard touchdown run in the third quarter is the longest run of the season by any collegiate football player in the country at any level. In addition to his historic day on the ground, Holmes also had three field goals and four extra points for a school single-game record of 13 kicking points. With three touchdowns, Holmes accounted for 31 of the Hawks' 37 points, establishing the high-water mark at any level in 2015.
