WATERVILLE, Maine --- Senior forward Lindsey Keith (Sutton, Mass. / Sutton) posted a dominant four goal performance as the Becker College women's soccer team won 4-2 at Thomas College of Maine on Sunday afternoon at Smith Field in Waterville, Maine.
Cassie Contigiani (Belmont, N.H) opened the scoring in the 12th minute, heading in a corner kick by Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) to put Thomas up 1-0. Becker answered back in the 17th minute on a goal by Keith. Hoving got the led back for Thomas in the 21st minute, taking a feed from Samantha Griffin (Union, Maine) and cutting up the middle, around the keeper, and netting a goal to put the Terriers up 2-1 at the half.
Keith brought things even again in the opening minutes of the second, then put the Hawks up 20 minutes later in the 73rd minute. She would score her fourth of the day off a penalty kick in the 83rd minute to seal the 4-2 win for Becker.
Behind the numbers
- Lyndsey Cobb-Wilkins earned the win for Becker after relieving Jordyn Martel in the second half. Kayla Gordon (Wiscasset, Maine) stopped eight of 12 shots on goal for Thomas in the loss.
- Keith now has 56 goals for her career, to go along with 132 career points.
- The Hawks improve to 2-1-1 on the season
Becker is back on the road on Thursday when they head to Worcester State University for a 7:00 p.m. game.
