Softball: Hawks wrap up Florida trip with two losses

CLERMONT, Fla. --- The Becker College softball team concluded their week at the Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, on Friday with two losses. The Hawks fell 4-1 to the Storm of Simpson College before falling short in their finale, 9-6, to the Pointers of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

TOP HAWKS
• Freshman outfielder Elizabeth Simonian (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) had a standout day for the hawks, going three-for-five with a run scored and an RBI base hit.
• Senior outfielder Vasia Murphy (Dracut, Mass. / Dracut) totaled three hits on the day with an RBI and a double.
• Freshman infielder Kyra Teixeira (Old Lyme, Conn. / Lyme-Old Lyme) went two-for-four with two doubles.
• Freshman pitcher Ashley Veillette (Danielson, Conn. / Killingly) had a huge double against the Pointers, driving in two runs to give the Hawks an early 2-0 lead.

UP NEXT
The Hawks are scheduled to be back on the field on Tuesday back in Worcester, weather permitting. The team will travel down the road to face crosstown rival Clark University in a 3:00 p.m. double-header.
