James Putney has been named the head coach of the Becker College men's lacrosse team in an announcement by Frank Millerick, the Director of Athletics at Becker, released on Wednesday.

"James Putney brings a wealth of enthusiasm and energy to our men's lacrosse program. I have all the confidence that he can bring the commitment to help our student-athletes achieve the greatest success both on and off the playing field," Millerick said in a statement.

Putney comes to Becker from Nichols College, where he has been an assistant coach since the Fall of 2015. Putney had previously coached at the Newark Academy and at Todd Drevitch's Hockey Techniques camp, both in New Jersey.

"I want to thank Frank Millerick and the entire Becker athletic department for this opportunity. I could not be more excited to join the Becker Men's Lacrosse team and to get the season started, and for the future growth of the Men's Lacrosse program." Putney said.

Putney graduated from New England College in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration. Putney was an All NAC Conference selection and an NEILA Senior All Star game selection with the Pilgrims.
