Men’s Ice Hockey: Eight Hawks earn CCC All-Academic Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Eight student-athletes from the Becker College men's ice hockey program have been named to the 2018 Spring Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Team in an announcement from the CCC on Monday morning.

Becker sophomore defender Brian Greene (Barnstead, N.H. / New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs), senior forward MacGregor Howey (Grosse Ile, Mich. / New Jersey Titans), junior forward Connor Jones (Lake Placid, N.Y. / Hartford Jr. Wolfpack), sophomore goalie Grant Martens (Bloomington, Minn. / Helena Bighorns), senior defender Nikolas` Nasby (Newberg, Ore. / Billings Bulls), junior forward Corey Schafer (Johnstown, Pa. / Missoula Maulers), sophomore defender Austin Siering (Dover, N.H. / L/A Fighting Spirit) and senior forward James Wallace (Levittown, Pa. / Philadelphia Revolution) were all recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom.

The spring list includes participants from each of the CCC's member institutions who participated in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, men's tennis, and women's track and field. Competitors in the men's and women's swimming and diving and men's track and field invitational meets were also honored.

In order to be recognized as a member of the Academic All-Conference Team an athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore academic status.
