Senior forward John Dutney (Hudson, Mass. / The Winchendon School) of the Becker College men's ice hockey team has been named the Becker Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 5, 2017.

Dutney had an incredible line against Curry College on Thursday, scoring one goal and three assists. Dutney scored a short-handed goal with 6:44 remaining in the third period to give the Ice Hawks a 3-1 lead over the Colonels. Later after Curry tied the game at 3-3, Dutney assisted on back-to-back goals just 25 seconds apart to give Becker the lead for good. Dutney's efforts were part of an incredibly Becker run that saw the Ice hawks score six goals in the third period including four in the final 1:22 of the game. Becker would prevail 7-3.

For the week, Dutney had five points with one goal and four assists. For the season, Dutney leads the Ice Hawks with ten points.

Becker is back on the ice on Friday when they travel to Endicott College for a critical Commonwealth Coast Conference. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m.
