Ten Ice Hawks earn Academic CCC Recognition

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Ten Ice Hawks from the Becker College men's ice hockey program have been named to the 2017 Spring Academic All-Commonwealth Coast Conference Team in an announcement from the CCC on Monday morning.


Becker senior forward Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore. / Philadelphia Junior Flyers), sophomore forward Connor Jones (Lake Placid, N.Y. / Hartford Jr. Wolfpack), senior forward Kyle Godfrey (Geneva, Ill. / Fresno Monsters), junior forward MacGregor Howey (Grosse Ile, Mich. / New Jersey Titans), senior forward Nicholas McKee (Bakersfield, Calif. / Fresno Monsters), senior forward Connor Merrick (Manchester, N.H. / NH Junior Monarchs), junior defender Nikolas` Nasby (Newberg, Ore. / Billings Bulls), sophomore forward Corey Schafer (Johnstown, Pa. / Missoula Maulers), junior forward James Wallace (Levittown, Pa. / Philadelphia Revolution) and sophomore forward Stephen Wolf (Somersworth, N.H. / New Hampshire Monarchs) were all recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom.


The spring list includes participants from each of the CCC's 10 full member institutions, plus the three associate members, who participated in men's and women's basketball, men's ice hockey, baseball, men's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's tennis, and softball. Participants in the CCC swimming and diving or track and field invitationals from those schools are also eligible.


To be recognized as a member of the Academic All-Conference Team, an athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status.
