LEICESTER, Mass. --- Senior guard Kareem Davis (Lowell, Mass. / St. John's) of the Becker College men's basketball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the week ending December 2nd, 2018.
Davis averaged 24.3 points per game over three games this past week, with 5.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals. The senior team captain shot 45 percent from the floor and 32 percent from behind the arc. Unquestionably the highlight of his season so far came on Tuesday as the Hawks hosted Springfield College, who had been ranked seventh in the country the week before. Davis scored a career-high 34 points to lead Becker to the upset victory, their first of the season.
Davis played all 125 minutes of game time for the Hawks. As of press time, he ranks fifth in the nation in minutes per game at 38:30.
The Hawks are home again on Tuesday (Dec. 4) for their conference opener against Lesley University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
