FIRST HALF

Just 24 seconds into the first half, Salem State took the lead on a tally from Alyssa Drouin (Methuen, Mass. / Methuen), assisted by Casie Curtin (Wrentham, Mass. / King Phillip Regional).  It wasn't until the 25th minute that Becker's Emily Iacovelli (Northbridge, Mass. / Blackstone Valley Tech) snuck a ball past Vikings goalkeeper, Kelli McCarthy (Foxborough, Mass. / Foxborough) to tie the score at 1-1.  With just 19 seconds remaining on the clock in the first, Becker received a penalty corner, and capitalized on that as Katherine Bernier (Dudley, Mass. / Shepard Hill Regional) put the Hawks up 2-1 before the break.

SECOND HALF

Despite a heavy 10-2 shot advantage for the Hawks in the first half, Salem State held a 3-1 edge in shots in the second frame. Drouin and Curtin connected on another goal in the 61st minute to knot the match at 2-2.  Neither team could score in the last nine minutes of regulation, which resulted in overtime play.
