Equestrian competes at Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. --- The Becker College equestrian team competed in the Roger Williams show on Saturday in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Captain Valerie Slimskey rode competitively in large 11-rider classes both on the flat and over fences, making her debut in the Open Flat division.

Freshman Kennedy Sheehan rode well in intermediate flat, and placed sixth in a large class of Novice over fences.

Novice riders Alexa Bridges, Maddie Gesmondi, and Layne Koeppel each rode in competitive flat classes, and Bridges placed Reserve in her class.

Sophomore Courtney Furlong, senior Robyn Wozniak, and freshman Jessica Santoro each placed fourth in their classes in the Walk-Trot-Canter Equitation division, Santoro competing in her first ever IHSA class.

Seniors Emily Baritone and Kimberly Delorto placed third and fifth, respectively, in the Walk-Trot Equitation division.

The team will be back in action on Saturday, November 10th at the University of Rhode Island show.
