Equestrian Completes In Regionals

The Becker College Equestrian Team traveled to Claddaugh Farm in Tiverton, Rhode Island for their Zone One Region One Equitation Finals. To get to Regionals, a rider must accumulate a certain number of points in their division and eight of Becker's riders earned enough ribbons to qualify.

Senior Catherine Merrill kicked things off in intermediate fences. After a beautiful round, Merrill was one of the top four in her class to be called back for a second round. Merrill placed third and was named an alternate for Zone Finals.

Intermediate flat was shown in by senior Terise Cole who rode well and placed seventh.

Junior Kirby Kojabashian and sophomore Meghan Burkhardt competed in Novice Fences. Both had great courses and Kojabashian was called back with three other riders to complete at second course. Burkhardt earned a seventh place ribbon and Kojabashian placed first in the class, qualifying her for Zone Finals.

Sophomores Bella Brogle and Lynda Mockler rode alongside junior Sara Pauwels in novice flat. All three riders rode well in their competitive class.

Ending the day was sophomore Tyler Downer in walk trot. After a nice ride, Downer placed seventh.

Congratulations to Kirby Kojabashian on being the Zone One Region One Novice Equitation Over Fences Champion and for qualifying for Zone One Equitation Finals!
