Equestrian Places Fourth at URI Show

The Becker Equestrian Team traveled to Mystic Valley, Connecticut on Saturday for a show hosted by the University of Rhode Island. The team accumulated 28 points, taking home fourth place.

Senior Catherine Merrill, sophomore Meghan Burkhardt, and freshman Julia Driscoll all competed in open flat, with Driscoll placing fourth.
Senior Terise Cole rode in intermediate fences, placing fifth, alongside Merrill and Burkhardt who each placed sixth.

Cole and freshman Morgan Houghton showed in intermediate flat and both placed third. Junior Kirby Kojobashian placed fourth.

Kojobashian earned the first blue ribbon of the day in novice fences. Juniors Hailee Klapproth and Sara Pauwels placed second and third, respectively, while sophomore Bella Brogle placed fourth.
Novice flat saw six of Becker's riders. Brogle placed first, while junior Kristi Esposito placed third, and freshman Stephanie Friece earned fourth. Klapproth, Pauwels, and sophomore Lynda Mockler all rode to sixth place finishes.
Freshman Haley Van Zuylan earned a blue ribbon in advanced walk trot canter alongside freshman Shannon Mangan who placed second. Sophomore Casey Petrone placed third, while juniors Tanashia Amaris and Jessica Goeller placed fourth.

Sophomore Tyler Downer competed in walk trot and earned first place.

Congratulations to Catherine Merrill, Kirby Kojobashian, Bella Brogle, and Tyler Downer on pointing out of their divisions and qualifying for regional finals.​
