Rochdale, Mass.--- The Becker College Hawks lost to the Lynx of Lesley University in NECC baseball action on Monday afternoon by a score of 14-3.
Lesley University (15-5) moves to 7-1 in conference play with today's win. The Lynx were led by J.P. Agiorgousis (Hanscom AFB, Mass.) who had a big two-run homerun in the seventh inning. Agiorgousis was two for five on the day with three RBI's and scored twice. He was followed by catcher Jacob Cervantes (Oxnard, Calif.) who had himself a two for four day, with two RBI's and scoring twice. Lesley's third basemen Vincent Taliericio (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was three for five, scoring three times and acquiring one RBI. Also, for the Lynx second basemen Will Rhone (North Haven, Conn.) had a two for four day, along with scoring twice and one RBI. Lastly, right fielder Christopher Papallo (Southbury, Conn.) went one for four and scored three of his teams runs and accumulated one RBI.
Becker College (7-16) falls to 4-5 in conference play with the loss. The Hawks took the lead early in the game with a two-run homerun by the catcher Cameron Plank (Marlborough, Mass.) to left field scoring Kevin Perez (Jersey City, N.J.). The Hawks last run was scored on a Tanyon Ventres (Holden, Mass.) single giving him his third RBI in two days. Perez was also tied with Noah Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) for most hits in the game for Becker with two. Both players went two for four on the day for the Hawks.
Lesley pitcher Colin Reed (Bedford, N.Y.) was credited with the win making him 2-0 on the season. He pitched three innings, allowing only one hit, striking out three, and walking three.
Hawks Pitcher Nicholas Hawrylciw (Amesbury, Mass.) was tagged with the loss after going five and one third innings. He only gave up four hits, struck out seven, with four walks, and five earned runs. He is now 0-3 on the season.
The Lynx of Lesley University will be back in action Wednesday at home against Eastern Nazarene College.
As for Becker they will be playing again Thursday night at 6:30 PM against Curry College. They will again be home at Rochdale Park.
