Lions Down Baseball, 12-4

ROCHDALE, Mass.-  Becker College fell to Eastern Nazarene College 12-4 in non-conference baseball action Thursday afternoon at Rochdale Park. The win lifts the Lions record to 8-13 while the Hawks sink to 11-11 on the year.

Alex Way (Syracuse, N.Y.) improved his record to 4-1 on the year after he scattered three runs over seven innings of work.

Andrew Santora (Middle Village, N.Y.) paced the Lions offense by going 2-for-4 including a homerun and three runs scored. Designated hitter John Greenlee (San Marcos, Calif.) chipped in with a 3-for-4 showing with two runs scored. James Coury (Milford, Conn.) added two hits and a pair of walks.

Becker starter Jorge Grullon (Worcester, Mass.) suffered the loss after allowing five runs in an inning of work.

Four different Hawks turned in a multiple hit in game. Junior short stop Chris Testa (Providence, R.I.) went 3-for-5 with an RBI while T.J. Sempkowski (Oceanport, N.J.), Niko Bedell (Manorville, N.Y.) and Josiah Shepherd (Providence, R.I.) collected two hits apiece in the loss.

Both teams return to action on Saturday, April 15th at noon in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders. Becker will travel to Dean College while Eastern Nazarene hosts Maine-Presque Isle.
