Ferrara Named Director of Sports Medicine at Becker College

LEICESTER, Mass. – Becker College's Director of Athletics, Frank Millerick, is pleased to announce that Nick Ferrara has accepted the position of Director of Sports Medicine at Becker College.

"I am very excited to join the Becker College Athletics staff," expressed Ferrara.  "In the few days that I have been here, I have been working hard to prepare the Sports Medicine Department for the upcoming season."

As the Director of Sports Medicine, Ferrara will provide Becker student-athletes with high quality sports medicine health care and will be responsible for the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries of Becker's student-athletes.

"Nick has several years' experience in Division I, II, and III and has extensive knowledge and has demonstrated strengths of being an exceptional leader," commented Millerick.  "Nick will provide the Becker student-athletes with the most comprehensive sports medicine care."

Most recently, Ferrara was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Franklin Pierce University where he primarily worked with football, men's basketball, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's track & field.  Prior to his experience at Franklin Pierce, he spent time at Indiana University and Morgan State.

Ferrara has his National Athletic Trainers Certification (ATC), licenses in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is CPR/AED certified, and is a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. 

Ferrara attended Bridgewater State for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees.  He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science/Health Fitness in 2011, and then received a Master's of Science in Athletic Training in 2013.
